Regarding the Book and Journal citation types, within a BEL Nanopub, we may want to investigate the Library of Congress's Standard Identifiers Scheme to represent identifiers as URIs.

The standard identifier schemes are able to represent DOI (digital object identifier), for journals, and ISBN (International Standard Book Number) for books.
