I think I can finally do this.

GMail disables any type of gesture capable of interrupting the transition, so I can circumvent the annoying one and done nature of them
GMail and Another Notes App both snap scrolling to avoid flickering from the same phenomenon
Navigation architecture changes have made it easier to determine whether I can pull off a transition or gracefully degrade
It's the official standard recommendation now
