How to decrease wand usages

Found somewhere that you should make two separate inventory items: 1 for how many are left in a wand, 1 for how many are used. But I'm unable to edit the item description after the fact. So I can't increment/decrement the wand usages. How in the world are you supposed to manage this and why is it not built into the software in the first place. This seems like a pretty standard thing, both for spell usages and wand usages. Or am I just completely missing something? Or some functionality of this program?

(Wow, surprised nobody else has responded yet...)

There is no easy method to decrease wand charges after it's been created. (An oft sought-after feature!) I have used the notes to track usage of charge-based magic items on my own characters. It works rather well actually.

Until a volunteer picks up this feature request, I don't see anything else that can be done.

Darn, thanks for the response. Seems like the same issue with spell slots as well. No way to reduce your remaining spells. And how do you decrement your health? Anytime I try to do so on the character sheet page, if I leave the page it goes away.

Actually you can change it in the inventory tab. Assuming you are in the inventory tab for the character, then go to the "purchase" subtab and right click on the item on the right pane. There are multiple options there (the main are for selling). The bottom one is to modify charges.
Once you press modify charges you can change it to whatever number you want.

@assafmendelson I'm not sure what version you are using, but on version 6.09.05 when I right click, all I get are Move Up and Move Down options, there are none of the other options you show, I also don't have a search bar at the top of the right pane. Looks like you might be on mac. Mine looks nothing like yours on PC.

@snowe2010 You are in the equipped tab (where you see where the items are equipped), you should be on the purchase tab where you buy and sell items (note my screenshot).

@assafmendelson that's just modifying the 'size' of the wand, not actually allowing you to reduce charges as you use them. I am looking for the ability to use charges while playing, not just specify what size the wand is when I buy it.
