Maybe I start with looking at the file shehan_trenches.h (for 9 trenches).
Is that based on Sheran Morandage's field study?
(It seems to be, looking inside the archive from here: https://www.tr32db.uni-koeln.de/search/view.php?dataID=1862)
And the research paper: Root architecture development in stony soils (Morandage et al. 2021)
Perhaps compacted engineered structural soils provide more macropores for root exploration than stony soils.
Not everything is a bug-finding issue.
Is it possible to have a Discussion tab here, to ask questions regarding model set-up etc?
Or is there an existing forum for CPlantBox?
I would like some advice regarding modelling tree roots with obstacles and macropores in a rock-filled trench.
I have read Wencheng Jin et al. 2020 publication (R.SWMS) and Magdalena Landl et al. 2016 (R-SWMS) .
Thanks
