Short Description

When logging into the PoGo App following a few hours of betting, I noticed my Geodude buddy went +8 for candies. I'd say this must be a 'red flag' to Niantic and makes bots really easy to spot.

Possible solution

Is the API call known yet for gathering the buddy candies?
Once known, add it into the bot to gather buddy candies as you 'achieve' them.

How it would help others

I'd say this is a high-priority issue as it would very easily identify a bot account for Niantic, unless you run the bot without a buddy (recommended until fixed)

I'd say this must be a 'red flag' to Niantic and makes bots really easy to spot.

It should be safe until they start to force everyone to update to the latest version. Imagine you have two devices, only one of which has its Pokémon GO app updated; you choose a buddy with the device that has the updated app and switch to the other device and keep playing until its battery runs out and switch back to the first device. What is going to happen when you log in? You're going to get multiple candies all at once, yet you have been playing the game in accordance to the ToS all along. So, the point is, right now there's no way Niantic can tell for sure if you have been using a third-party client just by looking at how many candies you're getting at a time.

unless you run the bot without a buddy (recommended until fixed)

On a side note, as far as I can tell, once you've designated your first buddy Pokémon, all you can do afterwards is replacing it with another Pokémon – you can't go back to the state where you don't have any buddy whatsoever. So, for those of you who're concerned, you might want to hold off choosing your first buddy.

don't know how long the forced update will be. I doubt I can hit lvl 30 by then.
