When I was reading about MONAILabel and even when participating the workshop, I had a really hard time understanding the "apps". After actually having used one, I think I know why.
The term "app" suggests that it is an end-user-application, with a GUI. Even going further, in my vocabulary an "app" is the frontend for the least technical user that can make use of the software (I think this sensation comes from smartphone apps, which I think introduced this shortened word in the common vocabulary).
So I think even application would be better than "app", but it also suggests having a user interface and that can perform the training/inference.
What I can think of right now are
Server
ServerLogic
ServerService
ServerApp
NetworkLogic
Probably there are much better terms than this, but I'll just leave them here to hopefully spur better thoughts.
Thanks for considering this in order to flatten the learning curve a bit.
