ROCm 10.1: Breaking the Data-Movement Bottleneck — ROCm Blogs #601

The framing here really resonates — on our MI300X cluster, we're increasingly seeing jobs bottleneck on data staging rather than FLOPS. NUMA-aware memory allocation is a welcome addition; getting that wrong has cost us real performance in multi-GPU training. I'd love to see follow-up benchmarks quantifying the Infinity Storage impact on checkpoint-heavy workloads specifically. The modernized stack direction also sounds promising for reducing the dependency headaches we've had with older ROCm releases. |
