Possible solution for TS100/DFU 3.45 to successfully flash firmware HEX file

Just spent the past couple of hours trying to flash my TS100 to all sorts of versions, using different USB's, windows versions and computers.
I managed to get it to work on windows 11 so I hope this helps someone else out.
STOCK FIRMWARE WAS USED IN SCREENSHOTS BUT WORKS WITH IronOS!!!!!

I noticed these 3 files/folders in the Irons folder while in DFU mode.

While these files were in the Irons folder it would not flash the HEX no matter what. I tried for hours!

After deleting those 3 files/folders it would flash the HEX after the second attempt!

I dont understand this oddity but hopefully this can be looked into and properly documented.

If you see those files on the emulated drive after connecting to a windows machine it most probably means you have malware writing its copies to every external storage connected. These filenames are common because macOS creates them automatically. So probably the malware authors are trying to use those names to mimic. Grab the files and send them to virustotal or something.

They came up on multiple PC, even seen other posts mentioning them. Virustotal came back with nothing and only recently went through a full detox of the PC I got it to work on.

Hm, looks like I'm wrong, #298 (comment) says it's a silly trick by the stupid bootloader and it's expected.

All good. I labeled the post in the way I was searching for answers while trying to make it pop up under close related searches also. Im not a github guru and was being simple as I can.

I had some trouble flashing my TS101. The solution was to use USB-C to A converter, and then an USB-A -> C cable. I.e. get rid of all other than the most basic USB signals.
