iOS: can't paste media to chat

Description:

Can't paste images/videos to the rocket chat on iPhone

Steps to reproduce:

1. Copy image to clipboard from Photos.app, or anywhere really
2. Open chat in rocket chat
3. Try to paste the image to the text field

Expected behavior:

The image should be pasted to the chat

Actual behavior:

Nothing happens, no paste option is given

• Operating System: Linux
• Deployment Method: Pika pods
• Number of Running Instances: 1
• DB Replicaset Oplog:

Any news on this? We’ve started using Rocket.Chat, and it’s quite frustrating that we have to save a screenshot to the Photos library before we can send it via Rocket.Chat, instead of being able to simply paste it directly.

Update: Just found that: RocketChat/Rocket.Chat.ReactNative#6848

we are actively working on it,
but currently you have to wait for iOS app as it require some native code integration
the PR aims to add this behaviour on android as the native code is integrated on android
currently the lib is in beta stage and needs more robust testing for IME and fixing any unknown bugs
if the android succeed we can plan iOS update soon
but again it needs whole comp to be written in the native iOS (obj c++)

good news,
i am done implementing image paste feature for new lib and its currently under testing
once everything goes right, you will able to paste images from iOS as well as android too
