There is a bug within the input devices that cause major stuttering on the steam deck within game mode. i was unable to test in desktop mode due to steam making my controller act like a mouse and keyboard causing buttons to turn up volume and such. But i can reproduce it in game mode 100% of the time. Here are the steps to reproduce it.
First i want to start by stating that ive tried many different controllers and they all perform with the same outcome.
Just to clarify, when i boot up Rosalies Muppen GUI on steam deck and go to the input config, i am greeted with these 3 devices by Default.
Automatic
Keyboard
Steam Deck Controller (0)
Playing the game this way, everything works perfectly when using the "Steam Deck Controller (0)" as my controller.
When adding a new controller, such as an xbox one or xbox 360 controller, the input configurator works flawless. I can configure the controller perfectly. Upon booting into a game however i see constant stuttering about every other second.
This bug can be intensified by:
Having the external controller connected
loading a game
pressing the 3 dot menu button on steam deck
go down to the cog wheel
select "Rearrange Controller Order"
Take the "Steam Deck Controller" and move it down to 3, 4, 5...etc (The more you do, the more the lag intensifies)
Doing this creates multiple "Steam Virtual Gamepad (x)" instances within the 'Input Device' settings on Rosalies Muppen GUI (with X being the number of times you moved it down)
The lag intensifies like crazy by doing this
There is no way to clear those input devices without a reboot or by going into desktop mode and back out. But simply adding just 1 extra input device (My phyisical xbox controller) causes stuttering enough to make the games unplayable.
Tested on DK64 and TLOZ Ocarina of Time
On the latest 0.7.5 version of RMG
