Some users want Defender to shut up faster 😄, although I cannot understand why people need to use a 3rd-party program to disable Defender, but the manifest is acceptable for me. An extremely low probability, it might be exploited by attackers in LOTL attacks when users follow the // For people who want to disable the Defender: disable it through Group policy or registry, no external program is needed. |

Writing to check on the curiosity that I've stumbled upon when going through the
extrasbucket today - it seems toward the end of 2025, DefendNot was added to the Scoop, a Defender impairment tool - this seemed like an odd package to have in the Scoop package repository in general. I checked the Contributing Guidelines and there doesn't appear to be any clear conclusion on whether Scoop has any clear stance on this particular topic.All reactions
