Hey,
Sad to see there was no mention of this acquisition process to your patreon supporters. (I mean, you've not updated it at all for a full year, but still)

If you're not in control of SMT then it'd be nice of you to let the people supporting you because of SMT know about that.

Later.

Same situation for github sponsors (discussions happened under SMT's github).

I have cancelled my sponsorship to @tibbi. I appreciate and respect the work he put into the apps. I also understand the financial reasons for the move. At the same time, not notifying people, especially those who are donating money to the project, is inexcusable. This is buyout has significant implications for the security, privacy, and functionality of the apps, to the point that the reasons why any given sponsor originally donated may no longer hold true. Additionally, the projects we donate to reflect our values and beliefs. Not letting us know of these potentially significant implications could damage our image. I am extremely disappointed that we were not taken into consideration and instead blindsided by this. It was irresponsible and I do hope @tibbi comes forward with a proper explanation of why he chose this and maybe even an apology.

I changed my GitHub sponsorship to @naveensingh. I appreciate the work that was done prior to this and hope maintenance of the apps I use will continue, even if under new name.

I just recommended this suite to my less technically inclined family members. Thanks for making me look dumb!

The Simple Mobile Tools apps now have invasive trackers and ads embedded into them... along with this wonderful subscription offer.

I bought 6 pro apps and the Thank You app as well. To say what I feel about tibbi for selling out his userbase, well, use your imagination. Open Source implies trust in that you will not directly betray your users and that he absolutely did. He knew what ZipoApps would do.

To put into perspective how absolutely bonkers their subscription rate is...

All apps from Adobe Creative Cloud: $59.99/mo. $719.88/year.

Simple subscription: €14.99/week, €779.48/year.

Everyone needs to discontinue their sponsorship for tibbi and demand refunds for this egregious violation of trust.

@jmtwelfth Are you sure that is SMT subscription? I think that is just SMT gallery subscription. What a bargain, right?

How come we have trackers in this app without an updated policy notice?! Yo this is criminal!
