Description:

The application ignores the Save photo exif metadata = unchecked setting when using a different aspect ratio.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the camera app
  2. Uncheck Save photo exif metadata
  3. Go back to the camera
  4. Change the aspect ratio (e.g., 4:3)
  5. Take a photo

Once the photo has been taken, viewing it in the gallery (e.g., Simple Gallery Pro) will reveal that the metadata is kept despite the setting being unchecked.

Expected Behavior:

Regardless of the aspect ratio, the exif metadata should be removed if the Save photo exif metadata is unchecked.

Extra Information:

I was able to reproduce the issue on two devices, both of which are Android 11 and are using v5.7.0 from F-Droid.

  • Android Version: 11
  • Camera Version: 5.7.0
  • Camera Source: F-Droid
