1. Set bitbaked Yocto meta-toolchain cross compiler to PATH -->

2. Extract QT to a folder
3. cd into that folder
4. Add hardfloat option to mkspec of qtbase/mkspecs/devices/linux-imx6-g++/qmake.conf
--> DISTRO_OPTS += hard-float
--> IMX6_CFLAGS = ... (add after existing parameters) -mfloat-abi=hard
5. Configure Qt with the following options in case of platform eglfs (Open GL ES) -->
- make sure that you set up the CROSS_COMPILE variable to the newly bitbaked cross-compiler and the sysroot to a proper rootfs of your target
in my case I took the wandboard-dual sysroot which was created during an image-build of yocto and can be found under yocto build /tmp/sysroots/[target e.g. wandboard-dual]
