YAMDCC hotkey support - request shortcut actions here!

Hi all,

Now that YAMDCC v1.0 has released, I would like to start work on hotkey support for YAMDCC.

So far, I've had one person request support for a Full Blast hotkey, but I want to know what other YAMDCC features people would like keyboard shortcuts for.

Below is the list of shortcuts I am going to implement (as of writing):

• Open config editor (I might be able to use the MSI Center Fn key for this, although this depends on if it's the same across many/all MSI laptops)
• Switch to fan profile
• Cycle through fan profiles
• Toggle Full Blast
• Switch to/cycle through performance modes (this might be made redundant by #37)
• Any other shortcut you suggest

Once configured, hotkeys will be made available system-wide, as long as the Hotkey Handler is kept running in the background (a tray icon will remain visible).

Please comment any other features you might want to control with your keyboard below.

Hmm tray icon? From the beginning of using YAMDCC I was surprised that when I minimize the app it is not going to system tray and away from taskbar. I thought about 2 things according to tray icon:

1. Colors of the icon that indicates current performance profile (red for 'full power', blue for balanced, green for maximize battery)
2. Ability to right (mouse) click tray icon with context menu popup showing performance profiles and giving me ability to click on any perf profile to activate it instantly. And if you will implement Question about config PerfModeConf #37 that would also change fan profile. I'm not a fan of switching perf profiles with hotkey because it is cycling. I prefer click on profile I want to use.

Do you think it is worth implementing?

1. I was originally going to have an option in Hotkey Handler to change the icon colour from the default red, but I might be able to do that.
2. The fan profiles in context menu sounds like a good idea. I might add it in a future release.
