To outline the problem:
- The region is static and not very fun to play, not fun to watch. Great powers rarely form in the region, and every time it's Transoxiana.
- Historical tags are rarely formed by AI, or can't be formed at all like Dzungar. To this list can be added Bukhara, Qing.
- There is no real threat to Ming in the mod, and Ming rarely collapses.
- Abysmal Mission trees and progression for almost every horde. There is a huge emphasis on recreating Mongol Empire, or atleast Yuan. 14y old fantasy.
- Hordes are lacking in flavor and are 2 dimensional.
So what exactly I'm planning to do.
- Redraw starting diplomacy, mainly Oirat / Mongol and Chagatai / Yarkand vassal relationship. Possibly even making Oirat and Mongol tributaries under the Ming at a start of the game. My rational behind it, is to give them safe breathing room to fight each other and expand. Instead of fighting oneseded wars with domineering Ming at start of the game. It also justified historically as this vassal relationships not lasted even 10 years or were tributary like in nature.
- Separate Expansion path for Oriat, focused on securing Dzungar proper, and formation of Dzungar Khanate. As well as embracing Tibetan branch of buddhism
- Addition of at least 2 estates for Hordes. Very safe variant is Nomad Aristocracy and Ulema/ Monastic Order.
Other options are Urban Centers. True Nomads are rare, most of the time it's a mix between nomad lifestyle, agricultural communities and trading cities.
- So far I'm leaning to idea of core military estate privileges. Where player would make economical concession to gain broader military support from Estates. Historically every man brought up in a Nomad society is a worrier and can be called in case of the war or raid. Taxes are symbolic, as well as military salary, instead soldiers of the Khan are relying on their portion of loot.
- Unique cultural Government Reforms, after u become Monarchy or Republic. Perhaps even retaining some of the unique estates.
Update
- After looking at Ming events and disaster, they need more work. It's primary reason why Ming doesn't collapses, which made me revert diplomacy changes.
- Moved Claiming celestial Empire to decision, otherwise there is no way for AI to claim it logically.
