Add `Media` base class

Description:

The library requires a Media base class that can later be specialized into at least two variants:

• homogeneous medium

• heterogeneous medium

A medium will be an abstract representation of a model state x inside a given spatial volume V.
This can have a concrete implementation in terms of e.g. a voxel grid.
