If I'm right Stremio supports a few protocols right now: http/s, bittorrent and rtmp.

Playing a stream from an IRC connection could be super cool imho.
What do you think about?

If I have time I could actually try myself to make a PR for this.

Hi @vuolter If you are still interested in implementing this i can give you suggestions about what needs to be changed in stremio-core and stremio-video
