Wanted to push this change just so you all could review the code. I do NOT think this should be merged as is, as I completely ignored the linters due to running into conflicts between the edits the different linters were making (someone else posted about this same issue in the slack channel). Will rebase and edit if you guys push more changes to main after this is submitted.
