Besides one calendar showing all the birthdays, there are literally thousands more showing up as it can be seen in the attached screenshot

I'm using cyanogemod on a nexus 4

Hello,

same here. I'm running on CM10.2 (Android 4.3.1).

I think there's problem, that for every person with entered birthday is created one calendar.

Thank you.

I will buy this, if you will fix this problem. I like idea have birthday dates in default calendar app without google.

This happened to me too @MarDiehl.

How to fix it:

  1. Uninstall
  2. Reinstall
  3. Go to Privacy Guard and allow it to Read calendar and Modify calendar (or just unlock it all together).
  4. Start Birthday Adapter and start a sync if it doesn't happened automatically.

@dschuermann I have no idea how developing for Android works but this is what I think happens is:

  • When the sync starts it tries to create a new calendar and to do that it sends a message to the "Android Calendar service"
  • When Privacy Guard is active it doesn't block and drop the messages it holds them and they get transferred to the "calendar service" when the block is lifted.
  • So if the user has the setting to block all newly installed apps with Privacy Guard by default the "create new calendar" messages gets queued up and when released it creates a lot of birthday calendars.
