DX7 syx-file audition cuts off on parameter change

Please describe the problem:

While auditioning a DX7 patch (i.e. from a SYX file), modifying any parameter (LPF cutoff, pan, level, etc) using the gold knobs results in the sound cutting out immediately

What is the expected behavior?

Sound does not cut out
