MAR03424 fully β-oxidizes (13Z,16Z)-docosadienoyl-CoA to acetyl-CoA in a single step, and MAR03423 fully β-oxidizes (11Z,14Z)-eicosadienoyl-CoA to acetyl-CoA in a single step. One round of β-oxidation of (13Z,16Z)-docosadienoyl-CoA would produce (11Z,14Z)-eicosadienoyl-CoA, and another would produce linoleoyl-CoA (AKA (9Z,12Z)-octadecadienoyl-CoA, MAM02391m). Since the β-oxidation of linoleoyl-CoA is already represented by the long series of reactions outlined in #761, MAR03423 and MAR03424 are partially redundant with those reactions. I think a relatively straightforward remedy to this situation would be to edit each of them to only represent a single round of β-oxidation each:

  • Edit MAR03424 to be (13Z,16Z)-docosadienoyl-CoA + FAD + H2O + NAD+ + CoA -> (11Z,14Z)-eicosadienoyl-CoA + FADH2 + NADH + H+ + acetyl-CoA, GPR: (ACAD9 or ACADL or ACADVL) and HADHA and HADHB
  • Edit MAR03423 to be (11Z,14Z)-eicosadienoyl-CoA + FAD + H2O + NAD+ + CoA -> linoleoyl-CoA + FADH2 + NADH + H+ + acetyl-CoA, GPR: (ACAD9 or ACADL or ACADVL) and HADHA and HADHB
