i still want detailed say/whisper. it's too good. i'd also like something along the lines of having the option for not having your message muffled at all in that whisper, but im scared of touching chat code right now

I'm presently implementing these in the language code at least. Ideally they'd be separate features but the language code needs to touch it in order to translate dialog, so they're ending up a bit intertwined.

The non-muffled whisper does also sound nice, however I feel like if we're going to pile too many more features into the chat system it really does start to become a "Rip out the foundation and put in something good" situation, even if waiting for upstream to rework chat.

I feel like having the ability to tune into specific frequencies with handheld radios should be a thing. Since if you check your headset, you can see the frequency with which the comms are tuned. For secure comms, you may still need a specialist handheld to decrypt the comms like command or security, but for unsecure comms, if you tune to the right frequency on a handheld, i think you should be able to speak on comms with it.

Also, consequently, having the ability to go to the comms server and change the frequency would also be a good thing, since at the moment if comms are breached, there is literally no counterplay. We could put in a special thing needed to be able to tune frequencies of headsets/servers similar to an access configurator.
