Your instructions say:

Build, load and install the tty0tty kernel module

A quick google search indicates that this is a modification to the Linux Kernel.

The great thing about the Open Source Synthesis tools is that they run on Mac OS X.
I have a reasonably new Mac M1 chip, my linux laptop is much older, and not usually used.

I think that this is needed for simulation, to connect the terminal client to the pretend device. Mecrisp also has a solution for this, which works on Mac OS X. It may require some wresting with it to get it to work with Scala and the J1Sc.

Sigh.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.

I have no idea where in this repo you have read the above instruction. Could you point me to it? And i don't see why you opened an issue. What exactly is the issue?
