The copyright years for the docs page currently says 2014 - 2020, which is out of date.
Considering the ongoing/continuous maintenance burden to keep updating the copyright year, I wonder if it is perhaps better to simply omit the copyright years.
I recently read this blog post titled "TIL: You Can Stop Updating Copyright Attribution Years", which is the reason I propose dropping the year altogether. There is also a slightly expanded blog post which alludes to a legal backing for this (based on the Berne convention) by the author of curl here: https://daniel.haxx.se/blog/2023/01/08/copyright-without-years/
As the biggest motivator for us to do this, curl has already dropped the copyright year entirely from their project! Also, spack is following suit soon. See Todd Gamlin positively supporting the dropping of copyright years for Spack in this PR: spack/spack#34921 (comment).
Happy to submit a PR based on the team members' thoughts on this if a consensus can be reached.
