A json schema describes the expected format of a json file, and you can validate against it. See https://json-schema.org/

Example schema(s) for dbGaP DAR data: https://github.com/UW-GAC/primed-django/blob/main/primed/dbgap/constants.py
Example of validating the dbGaP DAR json against the schema: https://github.com/UW-GAC/primed-django/blob/main/primed/dbgap/models.py#L232

This could also be added to CI to make sure that the jsons validate as expected.

Obviously not high priority, but it would be a good thing add if we want to publicize our data models for future use by other consortia/AnVIL.
