[barbeque-squared]

v2024.1.0 is intended to be released on 2024-01-01. Below are the draft release notes. What isn't merged yet will be merged on 2023-12-29. If someone does actually extensively use XML files: please comment why it needs to stay in cq. you can't convert them to txt.

NB: the first bugfix item actually affects all platforms, but only manifests if the platform is compiled with the -Cr flag. Currently, only Windows is compiled with this flag, but this is intended to be expanded to all platforms in 2024.
