cant turn off the death messages at all

even when I change both of the options at the top of death-messages.yml to false, it still sends the messages when someone dies. I dont really know how to report issues properly so ask me for any screenshots or whatever you need

Are you sure there’s not any other plugins interfering. Ill look into this but if there’s any other plugin that messes with death messages Strings disabling them won’t work.

i dont have any plugins interfering, i can change the death messages in the file and they will work properly but i cant turn them off. i even checked that with deleting the plugin
