Tim's an employee. He's also a nice guy that I do like. It's their shop, they can decide the rules.
I try to stay out of conversations around the site on meta, as this site stands on its own. I don't need to defend it because I don't believe it needs defending. If the site is useful and has a positive effect, people will use it. If not, it will be abandoned. Apparently others are finding it useful.
None of the issues ever brought up (and I see them all as I got an IFTTT alarm called "somebody's bitching about IDVB on meta again") concerned the content of the links, just how the links were being used. I can't control that (tho #94 addresses this with a possible workaround that I might whip up sometime in the near future). All I can do is provide helpful instruction as to why someone got downvoted and how they can fix that.
