For example, usage of \section,\subsection etc instead of manually changing the font/layout. I'm not sure if anyone does the latter when writing tex, but it is a common issue with Word/Docs. Do not skip a heading level (ie, \subsection without a \section'). Also use \emphand\textbf` for emphasis instead of underlining, all caps, or some other method.
