Use a fast MCU with lots of memory for buffers with hardware support for high-speed USB and CAN FD (and ideally CAN XL but I don't think there are any out there). Alternatively, use TI TCAN4550 with the same MCU.
The CAN interface shall be isolated. The power supply output is optional; perhaps it could be enabled by a jumper that disables the galvanic isolation at the same time so that we don't have to use power transformers.
The enclosure must be transparent or red-semitranslucent.
There must be an option with a proper graphical display. We call it Babel Pro.
