Removing newlines '\n' when pasting into Jira

When I paste into my company's Jira comment block in Text mode with newlines and '.*' as the REGEX for the extension, it strips out the newlines for some reason. Doesn't necessarily happen elsewhere, although I haven't made a major effort to sample websites. Doesn't occur in github when I try and paste into this box.
