Make onedrive stop syncing the Notebooks (of OneNote)

I am using onedrive in Manjaro - everything works fine, except, that since the last update it constantly tries to download the Notebooks of OneNote, without success.
I don't need them synced, I just want to disable that it tries to download them. How can I do that?
Putting the folder into the "exclude" list, did not help, for the case I did it correctly (just added "Notebooks" there).

Does anybody else have an idea how I could resolve this?

This is the same issue as #2936 & #2938

The fix details is in #2938 with the fix added to 'master'

Your options are:

• Build the client from source
• Ignore this issue and wait for v2.5.3 to be released

My advice is to build the client manually from 'master' and validate that this fix works for you.

So, finally I am on v2.5.3, but the problem that onenote notebooks are still tried to be synced is still there.

That issue was fixed and double counfirmed with personal and business account types, so either one of the following things are happening:

1. Your client is not v2.5.3 somehow
2. The GUI is not detecting that onenote files are being skipped

In either case - rather than using the GUI to inform you - what is the application actually doing? What happens when you run the client manually, using verbose mode?

I think I am having the same problem with v2.5.3:

If you are using a Microsoft OneDrive Business Account, then #3000 was not a complete fix for skipping OneNote files. PR #3001 resolved that issue.
