Setting up the CI for macos seems to be nasty to set up because of the docker image (see @unkcpz
attempt #6660) I am mostly worried that certain bash commands in the transport plugin do not work on macOS when used with localhost. I would say it is not very high on the priority list because the remote HPC machine where the commands are mostly executed run on Linux.
