Problem

After installing macOS Tahoe, the Mac boots successfully but the screen remains completely black.

The mouse cursor is visible and works normally. It moves smoothly across the black screen, which indicates that the system is responsive and the cursor is being rendered.

However, the macOS desktop, Dock, menu bar, windows, and other graphical UI elements are not visible.

Expected behavior

After macOS finishes booting, the normal macOS desktop should appear.

Actual behavior

• Screen is completely black
• Mouse cursor is visible
• Mouse cursor moves normally and smoothly
• System appears responsive
• Desktop is not visible
• Dock/menu bar/windows are not visible

Reproduction

1. Install macOS Tahoe on the MacBookPro12,1.
2. Boot macOS Tahoe using OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher-T2.
3. After macOS finishes booting, the display remains black.
4. The mouse cursor appears and can be moved normally.

This appears to be a graphics/display rendering issue on the Broadwell Intel Iris Graphics 6100.

Okay, what you can try is to create the installer via Terminal instead. I'll work on a permanent fix.

Create by installer and the Opencore after install works. even youn install the root patches an reboot than you see black screen, mouse coursor and hear beep when pressing keys. You can manage Volume and brightness.

Hey @albert1994-code , regarding the black screen issue on the MacBookPro12,1 (Broadwell IGPU) with macOS Tahoe:
Since the mouse cursor is visible and moves smoothly, it seems the GPU's hardware cursor plane is actually working fine. The root cause appears to be that Tahoe's WindowServer is failing to composite the main UI surfaces (desktop, dock, windows) when paired with the injected legacy Intel drivers.
to confirm that this is strictly a rendering/compositing issue with the legacy Intel drivers, could you try booting with the -igfxvesa boot-arg?
This will disable Intel hardware acceleration entirely and force VESA (software rendering) mode. If you can successfully reach the desktop (using -igfxvesa, it guarantees 100% that the issue lies in an incompatibility between the legacy Broadwell graphics kexts and Tahoe's updated SkyLight.framework or CoreDisplay.framework.
