Along the way I read that Plex uses the localized year a film came out. but not always the actual year.
(sometimes it was released earlier at a film festival).

you can read some about it here: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:2NtAkPVi5oYJ:https://forums.plex.tv/t/wrong-year-for-movies-localization/93064+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-b-1-d

and here: https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:7eVxMt5sB4MJ:https://forums.plex.tv/t/how-to-get-plex-to-pick-the-global-release-year-for-a-movie/199474+&cd=8&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-b-1-d

(sorry both links are google cache url's. When i click on the plex forum links they just open up to a blank page.)

The lists i have for collections (currently about 250) use Actual release years. so there are several movies it'll skip.
a solution I was thinking was to add the previous|current|next years to each movie in the file. and that would probably work.

but it might be easier to give this auto-collections an option to check each movie for the previous year from the one listed. and the next year after the one listed. to find matches?

What do you think?
