Difference between 'gene' & 'transcript' in stattest (1 gene : 1 transcript) #179

Hi
Sorry for repetitive question... 😅

Thank you for your fast reply! 😊
#178 (comment)

But I think there wasn't enough explanation in my question 😂

My data set is
1 gene : 1 transcript (One gene have just one transcript. There were no isoforms of transcript)

Since there are no isoforms for each gene, shouldn't the stattest results for "gene" and "transcript" be the same?
(i.e. Shouldn't they have the same fold change, p-value, and q-values?)

But I got different results when I set the stattest's feature as 'gene' <-> 'transcript'.
Could this be a bug problem..?

or is it possible there are different results even if one gene have just one transcript..?
(Are "transcript" and "gene" calculated differently in stattest?)

or... If I want to set "feature = transcript" for stattest, do I must have more than one transcript for each gene?

Your reply will be very helpful to me 😊

kindly help, thank you :)
Amelia
