Just started using Trekarta.
I already love it, cause as far as I know, it's the only app that allows you to show multiple tracks on the map even while recording a new one.

Since good ol' ViewRanger (anyone else reminding of it?) I've been searching for that feature.
In fact, while hiking I like to have a clear view of:

  1. the places (tracks) I've already been (including off-track sections not always covered by the maps)
  2. the route (or maybe more than one) I planned as a reference
  3. the track I'm actually on (the one recording)

Now I can do it with Trekarta, but I think that current tracks color management could be improved.

I'll try to summarize the current situation:

  1. all the imported tracks are red by default
  2. you can edit each imported tracks and change the color (and toggle between the new and the default color using the show/hide icon on the side of the track name in the tracks list) but this is not persistent
  3. the recording track is red by default
  4. you can choose the color of your recorded tracks when you save them, and that's persistent

I understand that there's already a closed issue on this (tracks colour #154).
I understand the imported tracks are GPX and that's probably not the same format of recorded tracks, hence it could be an issue to persistently change the color of imported tracks.

So what about adding a couple of options for selecting the default track color?
I mean:

  1. the default color of imported tracks
  2. the default color of recording track

That way you could, just saying as an example:

  1. import old tracks and set them to black to "customize" your map
  2. import a planned route and temporarily change the color from black to blue with the current edit feature
  3. select red for the recording track

Anyone else feeling it?
