You should upgrade to gradle 7.0 or at leas 6.8 and kotlin v1.4.x. #5

I liked this approach to to check connectivity above API 21.

But you should update it to latest libraries, kotlin version and gradle 7.0 or some 6.9 flavour.

and the fact that jcenter() is deprecated.
