As you might know already, the great suspender has been killed off by google as it was deemed malicious.

Is there an alternative extension that you can suggest that would work with Tabli?

I don't yet have an immediate suggestion for an alternative to the Great Suspender.

I liked the suggestion in the above linked article of forking an older version of the Great Suspender. If one of these emerges as a clear community favorite, it will be relatively easy to support it instead of or in addition to the official Great Suspender in Tabli -- should be a simple matter of adding the extension ID to Tabli's code base. The linked article mentions one such effort ( The Marvellous Suspender ), but there's not even a description of it in the Chrome Web Store, and it's not clear who is maintaining it, so I'm a little reticent to trust it just yet. Happy to revisit this if more details emerge there, or if another community-supported fork of the Great Suspender emerges as a clear winner.

This is a clean fork I am using successfully: https://github.com/aciidic/thegreatsuspender-notrack
Is it possible to make the support universal for all forks? Maybe we can input the extension's hash name or something?

Yes, this should be fixed, as a hotfix, replace the support on this extension https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/the-marvellous-suspender/noogafoofpebimajpfpamcfhoaifemoa/

As the 'Performance' options are coming via upstream Chromium now, maybe there is no longer any action needed here?

@JimBreton Tab discarding was added to Chrome in 2016 https://medium.com/@wdyluis/built-in-automatic-tab-discarding-of-chrome-9657579e4d35
But you can't specify unloading after half an hour there, for example
