Document read locks

Need to update the documentation to mention read locks before 1.2 is released. The Fluo tour and Architecture documentation should be updated.

@keith-turner Was this ever done? 1.2 was released early 2018, and I noticed this was still open and labeled with a 1.2 milestone.
