What happened

When deployed, the api-server terminates with code 0. Logs do not provide any error message as see below. I feel like that the apiServer gets killed because the livenessProbe seems to be unresponsive leading to a crash loop backoff.

That's an intereting discussion, but not airflow issue (at least not yet) - there are plenty of reasons why k8s might kill your pods - for example because you lack resources. And the only way you can investigate it in your k8s logs (including being able to see liveness probes and k8s logs showing why pods are killed) - there are a lot of tutorials out there that describe how to get the logs depending on your k8s choice and as a deployment manager you need to learn how to get it in your k8s. Once you know what's the reason by looking at your k8s (not Airflow !) logs you can post your findings there and then the discussion can continue.

Thanks for your reply. I had a look at the k8s logs and the pod get killed due to the startup probe failing. However this probe is configured by the helm chart provided in this repo, I only increased the timeout to prevent the failure to happen due to a slow start of the api. Any idea where I should look for ? Thanks

Well - helm chart is your to understand and modify. I believe in each kubernetes when prob fails it prints why. And you can find the reason. So I would be just guessing what could be the reason. From that you might find out what is happening. And maybe (again) your k8s does not have enough resources and everythign is REALLLY SLOW.. That would likely explain why startup probes are failng.

This is your job to make sure that you have enough resources and configure your timeouts/probes etc. Our Helm chart is just starting point for you - you cannot treat it as a "black box" that shoudl "always work" - when it does not, you need to look inside and turn the right knobs to fix things.
