The idea is, a clearly indicated post installation "Tips and Tricks" link/page/paragraph. Split out per platform or package form.

<control> Period key shortcut shows underscored e

When on pressing the <control> Period key combination, instead of moving to the next error message, it prints a underscored e, there is a problem with the emoji key combination assignment. To fix this, press enter to escape the emoji mode, and change the keyboard shortcut assignment of the emoji in ibus-setup.

Go to 'ibus-setup' (commandline) or 'IBus preferences' (menu) and clear or re-assign the 'Emoji annotation' in 'IBus Preferences|Emoji|Keyboard shortcuts'
