Contributors of all skill levels are welcome to contribute to discussions and to provide and review Pull Requests.
We have multiple GitHub repos so if you want to look for open issues to work on, it is worth checking other Pekko repos (not just this one).

There are a few areas where we could do with assistance. Some of the areas where we are lacking in volunteer time and expertise is in integrating with 3rd party services (Pekko Connectors and Persistence implementations, specifically).

• We could do with updating the CI testing to test with more up to date versions of the 3rd party apps (usually newer Docker image versions)
• Maybe, support testing with multiple versions of those services
• Some client jar upgrades need attention. We use Scala Steward but sometimes, the newest jar versions need changes to our code.

I've added Help Wanted labels to some of our issues.

• Java 25 test issues - nightly tests (CI): java 25 runs have a lot of stream test failures #2573
