transformRequest method of searchBase (React native searchbox) not working

Describe the bug
I was trying to modify request in transformRequest method of searchBase but it looks like the method is not executing.
Can anyone tell if that's working? If not why we have that method if that's not working.

Expected behavior
transformRequest method should execute before the execution of any request inside the searchBase component if transformRequest is passed with the method to execute.
