I like the look of this gem but I'm struggling to understand the dependence on Devise. I can see where it's used but not sure what resource it's defining. Is it to used to determine the current_user? I'm in the process of extricating Devise from my projects as it's causing more headaches than benefit. Is the Devise dependency really needed? Can the current user just be passed in somehow, or provided as a lambda in the configuration?
