MacOS seems to produce wildly different values in the tests in the CI. Need to find out why, and then add other OSs.

Project students have shown that it works on a Windows system. We could use GitHub CI to run on a Windows system, but this is probably not a top priority.

I am so out of practice with Windows that this would take me a long time to setup, but if someone else is willing to have a stab at it, I am happy to merge PRs.

Me too - I've never written a program on a Windows machine! Maybe leave this to an interested third party...
