Method: App (exploratory) · blocked-upstream
MiniMax Code — the M3-era agent product (launched ~2026-05-27) — runs as a desktop and web app with no terminal CLI and no documented local transcripts, so neither shipping path can reach it today.
Two reasons it's the most promising of the blocked group:
- MiniMax states it's built on OpenCode and Pi — both already Harness engines — and has said it intends to open-source it. The
MiniMax-AI/minimax-code repo exists but is a stub (created 2026-06-01, last push 2026-06-14). If real code lands, the session format is plausibly OpenCode/Pi-compatible and the engine is near-free.
- M3 as a model already reaches Harness — point OpenCode, or any integrated CLI with a compatible endpoint, at the M3 API.
The trigger: real code in that repo, or a CLI/headless release. (Their MMX-CLI is a media-generation tool CLI agents call — a different product, not a coding agent.)
