Hi,
Any news about 4.2 update/release?

From what I noticed these past few months the as3 version is getting slim to none attention despite announcements of new versions. At this point I wouldn't count on new version released for flash :(

Thanks, I think I'm going with Unity3D or UDK because all of the Stage3D engines are seemingly abandoned (wtf).

Really??
3 years have passed since this video.
The site has not been updated for over a year ...
This engine finally died...

As far as I know the adobe connect conference 12 was May 29, 2015. So, 3 months you mean?
My fingers are still crossed to see some new updates for away3d (flash versions).

Yes, of course))
I am using away3d in my current project.
But all in video about away3d 5... is just lie.
4.2 version is died without being born...
5 version is mystical ghost exists only in the speaker head.
For version 5, after 3 months, not even a branch on github...
No announcements, no discussions, no any information...

There is no reason to expect the version 5.

Ya, who knows what to believe at this point. Hopefully it's one of those cases where they think it's just another couple weeks, but turns out to be many months. I run into those situations where I think I'll be done something in a couple days and then then 2 weeks later I'm finally done.

Would be nice if someone officially working on the project could drop a line and say something.

We are in the same situation, we have an old Away3D application and we are considering moving to Unity or other framework as many people have done already.
According to their latest posts and commits, it seems they are working in the JavaScript version of Away3D (AwayJS) and then they will port the changes to Away3D.
As OceanBreezeGames says, it would be nice if someone from the Away3D team says something.

People just went away slowly, Adobe cut the funding in early 2014 and focus just got smaller, people slowly drifted away and 4.2 never came out, Away currently has 3 people, and you are probably not gonna see them working on the Flash A3D, and specially not porting the 9/10 years of Features and Refactoring AwayJS had.
OpenFL's Away3D is still maintained if you want to use it, but until someone takes it up to themselves to maintain this, it's dead.
Thank Adobe for cutting their funding to The Away Foundation and just not caring about flash much in general.
