What happened: Seeing WebIdentityErr on credential retrieval. The service account and iam are created with terraform to ensure they are sync'd up.

What you expected to happen: It looks as if the webhook has mutated the pod, but it is stuck in creating step.

How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible): This seems to be some race condition I have not found the answer to yet.

Anything else we need to know?:

Environment:

  • AWS Region: us-east-1
  • EKS Platform version (if using EKS, run aws eks describe-cluster --name <name> --query cluster.platformVersion): N/A
  • Kubernetes version (if using EKS, run aws eks describe-cluster --name <name> --query cluster.version): 1.29.7
  • Webhook Version: 0.5.5
